Eliminate plans that cannot do your job
For an ecommerce marketer choosing an AI search workflow, the first question is not price. It is whether the plan covers the engines, markets, and reporting your team needs.
A manual workflow is a valid alternative for a bounded page-editing task, not an equivalent substitute for recurring monitoring. Use the rules below to separate those jobs before buying.
Bulti publishes this guide. It is a procurement worksheet based on official documentation, not an independent hands-on benchmark or customer study.
Check the plan, not the platform's full feature list
The following restrictions are listed on Profound's official pricing page. They are plan limits, not measurements from our own testing.
| Requirement | Starter | Growth | Consequence for selection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Answer engines | ChatGPT only | ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews | Growth is not coverage of every Google AI surface or every engine |
| Tracked prompts | 50 | 100 | Count your required question set before choosing |
| Prompt frequency | Daily | Daily | Neither plan is merely a one-time report |
| Languages | 1 | 1 | Upgrading to Growth does not resolve a two-language requirement |
| Regions | 1 | 1 | Upgrading to Growth does not resolve a two-region requirement |
| Data exports | None | CSV, JSON | A required export rules out Starter |
| API access | No | No | Growth exports are not an API integration |
| Agents credits | 100 per month | 400 per month | Both include content-workflow credits; do not treat credits as article counts |
| Seats | 1 | 3 | Count the people who need access, not just the buyer |
The pricing page lists custom Enterprise arrangements for broader needs. Ask which combinations are supported rather than assuming an Enterprise quote covers every requirement.
The listed Starter and Growth prices display yearly billing. Confirm the amount due, renewal, cancellation, and usage terms in writing; do not infer a universal contract from that label.
Apply these rules before booking a demo
These are requirement examples and decision rules, not invented clients, trial results, or performance data. Apply every relevant row; passing one row does not cancel a failure elsewhere.
| If your requirement is… | Starter | Growth | Deterministic next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT only, one language, one region, at most 50 prompts, one seat, no exports or API | Within these listed limits | Within these listed limits | Keep Starter eligible; test output quality and remaining requirements |
| CSV or JSON exports for a weekly report | Excluded | Export supported | Remove Starter; inspect a Growth sample export before committing |
| ChatGPT plus Perplexity and Google AI Overviews | Excluded | Engines supported | Keep Growth eligible if all other limits fit |
| English and Korean monitoring | Excluded by the one-language limit | Excluded by the one-language limit | Request a written broader-scope quote or evaluate another platform |
| US and UK monitoring | Excluded by the one-region limit | Excluded by the one-region limit | Do not upgrade to Growth just to add a region |
| Gemini or Google AI Mode monitoring | Not listed in this plan | Not listed in this plan | Do not substitute Google AI Overviews; request exact engine coverage |
| An automated API feed into your reporting system | No API | No API | Request API access in a suitable plan or change the reporting requirement |
| One known PDP correction, with no recurring reporting need | Not required for the stated task | Not required for the stated task | Use the manual workflow below first |
“Eligible” means the published limits have not ruled a plan out. It is not a recommendation to buy or a guarantee that its answers will suit your reporting.
Content creation is not missing from Profound
Profound's Agents documentation describes research, FAQ generation, content refresh, new drafts, approval steps, and CMS publishing.
Calling it a tool that “only tracks” would be inaccurate. Both listed plans include Agents credits, but those allowances do not establish how many finished articles your workflow will produce.
Ask the vendor to run your intended workflow and show its credit usage. Also ask who checks product claims, how approval works, and whether your CMS is supported.
Answer Engine Insights documents recurring visibility, citation, sentiment, and competitor analysis. That is a separate requirement from producing an acceptable draft.
Complete a manual page check in 30 minutes
Use this route when you already know which product page needs attention. You need its URL, five genuine customer questions, and approved product documentation.
The time boxes are a proposed work session, not a measured completion-time claim. This exercise produces a reviewable edit plan, not an AI visibility score.
| Time | Action | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 0–5 minutes | Select five questions from support tickets or sales emails; remove personal details | Exact question wording |
| 5–10 minutes | Locate each answer in an approved manual, policy, or specification | Source reference, or “fact missing” |
| 10–20 minutes | Compare those answers with the visible PDP text | Correct / missing / conflicting for each question |
| 20–25 minutes | Write the smallest needed correction using only approved facts | Proposed wording plus its source |
| 25–30 minutes | Assign fact-checking and publishing owners | An edit ready for approval, or a named blocker |
If the fact is missing from your own records, stop that answer and ask the product owner. Neither a subscription nor an AI draft establishes an unknown specification.
If the page already answers all five questions correctly, do not rewrite it solely to create activity. Investigate a different problem, such as whether the target questions appear in actual AI answers.
Copy the same worksheet for every option
Use this for a manual workflow, Profound, or another vendor. Empty fields mean unresolved requirements, not a pass.
PDP URL:
Five actual customer questions:
Approved source for each answer:
Current page status per answer: correct / missing / conflicting
Proposed correction and source:
Fact-checking owner:
Publishing owner:
Do we require recurring monitoring? yes / no
Required engines:
Required languages and regions:
Number of tracked questions and seats:
Required export format:
API required? yes / no
Candidate plan:
Any hard requirement outside its documented limits?
Source URL and date checked:
Demo evidence still needed:
- Raw answer with date, engine, region, and citation URLs
- Sample export with the fields our report needs
- Credit usage for our intended content workflow
- Approval and publishing path in our CMS
Commercial terms to confirm:
- Amount due now and total over our evaluation period
- Usage limits and extra-credit charges
- Renewal and cancellation
- Data access after exit
Decision: manual edit / eligible for trial / excluded / defer
Reason:
Missing evidence, owner, and next review date:
Selection rule: exclude any plan with an unmet hard requirement unless the vendor confirms a workable arrangement in writing. A cheaper price does not repair missing coverage.
Keep editorial checks separate from outcome measurement
Before publishing, resolve every unsupported factual claim. This is an editorial safeguard, not a threshold that predicts AI citations.
For outcome checks, retain the same question set and record engines, locale, dates, raw answers, and cited URLs before and after the edit. A small manual check is not equivalent to recurring platform coverage.
Answers vary, and models and competitors change. A before-and-after difference does not establish that your edit caused it. Keep mentions, citations, visits, and sales as separate measures.
Bottom line: do the manual edit when that is the whole job. When recurring reporting is required, eliminate incompatible plans first, then test an eligible plan with your own questions and reporting format.
